Five mid-range Franquette English Walnut sets on the for-sale block. All were harvested in 2009 in Red Bluff, California and have been resting peacefully in my drying barn in southwest Oregon ever since. All are dry and ready to work. All will be paired with a closely matching forend blank and shipped pronto by Priority Mail after receiving payment. If you're looking for some properly laid-out, stable and decently priced English Walnut born, raised and harvested in this country, here you go.

#68 measures 20 x 7.5 and is 2 1/2 inches thick. Excellent symmetry, good color, perfect layout with a gentle feather fan and dipsy-doodle figure in the butt. Priced at $650.00, this set is on sale at $449.00 reduced to $349.00.

#177 is a lefty's lament. Very dramatic left side with a less dramatic right will be a nice show piece for a southpaw. Measures 20 x 7.5 and 2 5/8 thick making it an excellent candidate for the wrong-way shooter who needs a little extra "twist". Priced at $800.00, on sale for $449.00, reduced to $349.00.

#233 is a great combination of perfect layout, beautiful symmetry side-to-side, good mold line density and great California "honey" background color. Measures 20 x 7.5 and 2 1/2 inches thick. Great for the shooter who wants everything just right but doesn't need "gaudy" to improve his/her scores. Priced at $800.00, on sale at $449.00, reduced to $349.00.

#106 is a "righty's reward". Wonderful "dipsy" on the right side with traces of the same, but no guarantees, peeking through on the left. Superb layout, good color and very distinct mold lines combine with ample measurements of 20 x 7.5 and 2 1/2 inches thick. Priced at $775.00, and for sale at $449.00 and is SOLD.

#206 is the gem in this thread. Color, figure, density and layout are all what they should be. Measures are 20 x 7.5 and 2 5/8 inches thick. Fiddleback through the saddle will perk up when your stockmaker does his magic. Priced at $950.00, and on sale at $549.00 and is SOLD.

Yes, all will be supplied with a very closely matching forend blank. For those who asked "Why Smoky?", this is my barn at less than 100 yards from the camera. We're on a level 2 alert, so get your orders in now. "Smoky" is definitely better than "Ashy" which is what it may be tomorrow!!

Coyote,

Interesting Catch-22. As long as the inversion layer is here it starves the fire of oxygen and suppresses it, but nobody can breathe. As soon as the inversion lifts or blows away, the smoke lifts a little, but the fire blows up. Real threat to Cave Junction, Kerby, Selma, my barn full of wood, etc.

PM sent re: 106 and 206.

ttt 9-19. I'll give close consideration to $349.00 for any of the three that are not sold and I could be talked into picking up the shipping at that price. #233, #177 and #68.
