I think Ruger is there along with S&W with regards to CA. They aren't "Leaving" California, just not going to manufacture guns for sale in CA that require compliance with new micro-stamping regulations. Might be real hard to find a new gun in California soon.
And next, any gun that can't microstamp will be declared illegal and incapable of sale or transfer in the state. They will probably expand this the rifles and shotguns too.
Just a matter of time. And yes, as mentioned this will be a blueprint for other states.
Their tactic worked. Its time to put a stop to all this bulls&^%. Again I got a call from Republican party for donations. As I stated to them before. If no impeacment preceedings started then no donations coming way Bill
Tom, that's a good point, and the anti's have already planted brass.
Years ago a local sporting goods store (now defunct) had a customer show up. He'd go through the used brass bins, grabbing handfuls and putting them into bags. He didn't seem to care what or how much he grabbed. This went on for a while, and we all thought it was odd.
It was around this time that local TV stations started showing empty cases left in the streets, gutters and sidewalks, "evidence" of drive by shootings in Portland. But when they zoomed in, you'd see a mix of brass ranging from small handgun to large rifle cases, like 30-06. The amount of empty cases would have resulted in what would sound like a small battle.
It dawned on us that what was happening. The anti's were seeding brass in areas that had drive by shootings and probably tipping off the media to where they could video the empties. A lack of forward thinking resulted in gullibility and the 'evidence" was shown on the news.
We suspect the customer randomly selecting brass was an anti planting 'evidence' but he never showed up again once we made the connection.
So yeah, imagine your range brass being sold at the local gun shop or sporting goods store, and then being seeded as "evidence" of a drive by. And the cops pick up a few cases and inspect the microstamping. The brass is traced to you, and now you have to try to convince them you didn't shoot your gun off there.
Microstamping. A bad idea from the standpoint of manufactured 'evidence' and simple minded cops with one track minds.
