Does anyone have any recommendations for lubricating the primer drop on an SL900? I've been using powdered graphite for some time, but I notice a little shuddering on the way down. Any help is much appreciated.

No lube, just keep the exterior of the drop tube super clean

Are you talking about the primer tray or the drop tube? If it is the tray I sprayed mine with furniture polish and wiped it down really well. The primers slide down to the tray like they are on ice.

Too heavy a coat of wax and the surface gets sticky and even wavy.

I would imagine that super clean is the way to go. Definitely not any sort of powder

I used Flitz to polish the tray surface. Then Frog Lube and wipe it down dry. Clark Grizwald on the disk sled!!

on the primer tray surface i occasionally wipe it with a spent dryer sheet , makes it real slick . on the tube that drops the primer i keep it clean and dry on the out side . on the tube that drops the primer on the inside i take a small rifle patch holder and clean it ( i have only done that once in ten years .)
i rarely have a primer drop malfunction .

Again before you put any primary in your tray wipe it down with a little silicone dip brush and that should work

After cleaning the exterior of the drop tube if the primers are still not dropping make sure the Slide/Bellcrank Spring part number 16714 is intact. That spring broke on my machine and the primer drop became very inconsistent.
