I have a buddy who has an SKB Century trap that he bought new back in the early '70s. He shot it a little and and quit shooting until about 5 years ago. The gun has started to get a little loose. Is there any do it yourself fix for this? I don't see anything obvious but he wanted me to ask.

Thanks,
Wayne

On mine the screw (#34 in schematic) that holds the opening lever to the reciever was loose and the opening lever was therfore loose which made the lockup loose. I put a little loctite on the screw and tightened it so the top lever was just snug and that tightened
it up when closed. I can email you the schematic if you need it.

Tigman46 The gun is an Ithaca Century Trap made for Ithaca by SKB up till about 1979. There were two models a number 1 and number 2 you need the serial number to find out which one it is. Some small differances in the two modles like stock and forearms. Lyle
