I shot opposite handed as soon as I could manage the front end of the gun. I wasn't all that bad either. The hardest part was loading it. Had to switch hands to do so. At least I wasn't in the clubhouse making enemies.

Good luck with the surgery and recovery.

I had both shoulders done after burn rehab tore them out. They said the pain would tell me when to stop but I guess my pain tolerance was a bit too far, so both rotator cuffs needed repair and both biceps had to be reattached. Bonus is that because they attach the bicep to the humerous giving a Popeye look to the arm.

The rehab was worse than the surgery and aggravation of limiting movement. If you have both done make sure you can clean yourself up in the bathroom before doing the second one.

Good luck and do the rehab homework religiously.
