I figure this is best here. I reviewed the "Shot Hardness" thread in the "Shooting Related" forum, but did not see Eagle listed. I lucked across 200 lbs. 8 1/2 from a local guy who was getting out of shooting. I love 8 1/2 for 410, but if it falls into the "Crap" category...I'll load it for 12 gauge.

Thoughts and insight?

Works fine for singles and doubles.

EDIT: If you normally use an open choke, like Modified, you might consider tightening up a bit. IM or Full. Soft shot doesn't pattern quite as tight as hard shot.

This stuff is probably no worse than what they put into Gun Club shells from the factory.

I've used around 200 bags of Eagle shot. Mine have been round, shiny and pretty consistent in size. They run small. The bags are labeled #7-1/2's but they're sized more like #8's. Shoot them up and they'll be fine.
