Anyone know where you can shoot lead shot at a trap range near SanFrancisco CA?

Chabot Gun Club may be even closer to SF than either Livermore or Martinez. However, those clubs are well-run and have many voice-activated trap houses. Chabot has hand-thrown targets, two houses, and the personnel tends to move at a melting glacier's pace. All are lead-friendly.

Been watching this thread with enthusiasm.

Jnoland--exactly what would be your criteria for "near SF..."? All clubs listed are in northern California and most are in the greater San Francisco Bay region.

They are:

North Bay (Valley of the Moon)

East Bay (Chabot, USI, Martinez, Livermore)

South Bay (Sunnyvale, Metcalf, Coyote Valley--and for "real fun" Los Altos)

Peninsula (none left)

**** Creek and Stockton are in the Central Valley outside of what is considered the San Francisco Bay Area

I think the Pacific Rod & Gun in SF have to shoot steel because of the lake.

Valley of the Moon is in Napa, close to Sears Point Raceway off of Hwy 37. Not too far but you should call these clubs to see what their hours are. Enjoy them, they are good clubs.

Also, Richmond requires steel at least for skeet, don't know about trap.

Pacific rod and gun is open to the public and is open 11:00 am too 4:00 pm wed,sat and sun. Steel shot only. Valley of the Moon is trap only and open to the public only on wed, and sun. I think. Valley of the moon shoots lead but please check there hours. Both are great clubs.
