I use the SSP Methow kit. And, I really only use one color. Comes with about every color you could imagine. They are not cheap, but they may have an opting with fewer lenses that could meet your needs. Mike is a super good guy, reach out and I bet they can get you into a package that hits your price point.

If budget is a real consideration give Sight Trax, the vendor on here, a try...

I've been a Randolph guy for more than 20 years and my vendor for those is Wayne Morgan Optical out of Olean NY, however their price point is where you don't want to be...

Good luck on your search

Besides enhancing the target, you would be wise to look at the safety factor of the lense material you’re going to purchase.

JBrooks recently performed a test inwhich the high dollar Pillas failed miserably. Several cheap safety glasses performed admirably. Worth a consideration in your purchase.
I did a google search but couldn’t find anything about that test on Pilla’s. Any chance you could share a link or something? I’d be interested in learning more.

I bought the sighttrax and am very pleased with them. Been using them for month or so. I do wear glasses and liked the prescription insert. I have never used colored inserts prior and will say that believe I picked up a clay or 2 while using them.

Have Decot Hy wide's and I also have 2 pair of Rangers . My decot's are close to 20 +years old . I do believe the Decot's are cooler more open they seem to set off the face more .They both have served me well and it's dependent on what color of lens I use on which pair I wear .

I don't want to get real cheap glasses, but (to me) $300+ seems expensive for nonprescription glasses. The price range I'll start out with is $70 - $150 for starters. If I find that they make a difference in target acquisition, I may go for the higher end. I just want to make sure it's worth it before going to the higher end product.
Then your path is clear. (Pun intended) Get a set from SightTrax, and try them out. If you make the decision to move on from them, Pilla are the best made.

I will give another positive for the Galazan set with 13 colors. WAY more colors than needed. About 15 years ago I decided I wanted some nicer wire frame glasses with different colors. I did not want to spend too much and then decide I didn't like them. So got the Galazan thinking if I liked them I would upgrade to Decot or Randolph later. Well I am still using the Galazan original pair. Might upgrade at some point, but they seem to have good clarity and I have picked out the best color from the set that I use for 80% of the weather/light conditions.

I looked at the website but it doesn't say if they are PolyC or have any safety rating. Top rated eye protection should be the primary function of shooting glasses.

Keep an eye on eBay I got some perfect decots with 3 sets of lenses for about$50.As you probably know you need the larger lenses with Higher lenses over regular glasses.

I agree completely. That is my biggest concern with them. They have very little information regarding the protection value of the set. I actually have had some students over the years get them, and somehow have magically come up with a spare lens or two that were left in team range bags or our trailer. I need to send them to you and let you shoot them to add to your data.

I was leary, based on price alone, of Sight Trax. Well, we got 15 pairs and our kids love them. The quality is amazing, the colors are great and they come with the prescription insert. They are very similar to the WileyX Saber glasses, made just as well, priced better. Highly recommend for the price.

There are a variety of colors that have various effects. I’ve looked through the lenses of Randolph’s Rangers new “AI” lenses and they make targets look like neon signs, but they are not cheap. Here are the effects of the basic colored lenses:

Shooting glasses colors:

Yellow:
For dim light conditions or fog
Increases brightness
Enhances the color of the target

Purple:
Reduces any green background color
Gives true depth to the background
Enhances orange targets

Orange:
For very bright conditions
Enhances orange targets
Enhances bright colors

CMT (Color Magnification Technology):
For very bright conditions
Enhances oranges, yellows, and reds.

Neutral:
For all light conditions without creating contrast

I also did a lot of research and decided on Sight Trax. Got my rx insert done by Walmart for a great price. Had an issue with the lenses not fitting well into the frame and reached out to their customer service department and they promptly sent me a new frame. Highly recommend!

Currently using WileyX Sabers, I like them a lot. But I was scoring a charity shoot yesterday and the orange, gray, and clear lenses did not help with the green targets set against a brown background. I’ve read that the newish Blue Ice helps…any comments?

I wear prescription glasses and use shooting glasses that fit over them, I use brown on bright days to prevent squinting and orange on overcast days.

I found a set of clip on sun glasses in a light red/pink color. I was just clipping them on my regular glasses where they worked pretty well. Especially at a time where my prescriptions were changing very rapidly, I did not want to keep ordering the RX lenses for shooting glasses.
