The high school team I help coach is new to the SCTP program this year. We're thinking about taking a team to Sparta in July. I note the dates are something like 7/15 - 19.

Does participating in the shoot require a full 5 day commitment or is the team assigned to shoot just one of the days.

Thanks.

Last year the schedule went like this:

Sunday check in and practice
Monday/Tuesday: Skeet and Sporting Clays (you shoot 100 targets each day in one of these disciplines) So if you are shooting the entire program you would shoot 100 skeet on monday and 100 skeet on Tuesday (or 100 sporting clays monday and 100 sporting clays tuesday)

Wednesday/Thursday Skeet and Sporting clays (if you shot skeet on monday/tuesday you shoot sporting clays on wednesday/thursday) or vice versa.

Friday/Saturday Trap 100 targets on Friday and 100 targets on Saturday.

You do not need to shoot the entire program. If you are only shooting trap then you need to be there Friday and Saturday only.

Make your hotel reservations (or at least hold your rooms) as soon as you know you are going. We already have our rooms reserved for this year.

Not knowing where you are located, SCTP holds some regional shoots your team may be interested in, also.

March 8-9, 2014= "Shoot-out Crossroads" College Regional, Lenexa,Kansas

April 4-6, 2014= High School & College Regional, Sparta, Illinois

May3-4, 2014= High School & College Regional, Florida (no location given)

October 17-19, 2014= College Regional, Grand Island, Nebraska

Make sure you are on the SCTP e-mail list as they send out a monthly newsletter to coaches that has way more information than their website.

Good luck and enjoy the SCTP!
