Just recieved this email from the looks like they are stepping their program up! Great news for kids and coaches.

There are many great things happening with SCTP. Following are just some of the reasons your shooting program should be affiliated with the Scholastic Clay Target Program. Most of the following benefits are only available with the SCTP program.

Liability Insurance

The SSSF/SCTP has one of the best insurance programs of any youth shooting organization program in the country. Our basic liability policy provides for $1,000,000 per incident and $3,000,000 per year. We are adding a minimum of a $5,000,000 umbrella policy in the 2011 shooting year.

A coach is covered even if they are at a non-SCTP event, providing that SSSF/SCTP sanctions and recognizes the event. In the case of an incident, a coach is covered by our First Defense policy - meaning that the insurance company picks up the cost of defending the suit. If necessary, we can add your local public or private school on the policy as an additional insured with no additional charge. In addition, our accident policy offers $10,000 in medical coverage over and above your health insurance. There are some coaches paying $400 per year for less coverage than our policy offers. A SCTP coach or volunteer pays only $25 per year.

SCTP College Division

SCTP will have a college division starting with the 2011 shooting year. The SCTP registration cost for a college team is $175 per team, without insurance coverage or state awards. If the college team wants insurance coverage the cost is only $10 per club member.

Association of College Unions International (ACUI) College Shotgun Championships Participation Endowment Trust Funding

SSSF SCTP, with the help of Larry and Brenda Potterfield, will contribute $5,000, into the endowment trust account at Midway USA Foundation, of every SCTP College attending the 2011 ACUI College Shotgun Championships. *

State Championship Participation Endowment Trust Funding

SSSF/SCTP, with the help of Larry and Brenda Potterfield, will contribute $1,000, into the endowment trust account at Midway USA Foundation, of every team attending any of the State SCTP Championships. A team must have a minimum of 5 shooters from the same high school to qualify. If a team has multiple high schools that qualify, then the deposit will be made into multiple high school accounts. Even though the funds are held in the name of the high school, the yare deposited at Midway USA Foundation and are controlled by the organization that sponsors the local SCTP program. If a team attends multiple State SCTP Championships, there will be only one $1,000 contribution for each qualifying

school. *

State Championship All Around Endowment Trust Funding

The all-around winning team in American Skeet, Sporting Clays, and Trap will receive a $5,000 endowment contribution into their Midway USA Foundation/Scholastic Shooting Sports Trust account. The team must have at least one qualifying high school. If there is more than one qualifying high school, the contribution will be split evenly among all qualifying schools. Second place all-around team will receive a $3,000 contribution and third place will receive a $2,000 contribution.*

National Rifle Association All School All American Team

Any athlete that participates in the SCTP National American-Style Team Championships (Sparta, IL) or the National Olympic-Style Team Championships (Colorado Springs) can qualify for the NRA All-School All-American Team. Citizenship requirements are a 3.0 or better grade point for the 2010-2011 school year, a letter of recommendation from the team’s Head Coach, the Athlete’s State Advisor, and a school administrator or pastor. Each discipline will have a minimum qualifying score (MQS) that will be announced prior to the events. Any shooter that has the citizenship requirements and shoots the MQS will receive a NRA All-American Patch, Pin and Certificate.

25, 50, 75, 100 Straight Patch Program

Any shooter that shoots their first 25, 50, 75 or 100 straight in trap or skeet at either National Championships will receive an appropriate patch and chevron compliments of SSSF/SCTP.

USA Shooting Partnership

SCTP has been named the Official Clay Target Development Program for USA Shooting. The partnership also gives SCTP Athletes two Junior Olympic Development Camps each year and a standalone SCTP Olympic-Style Team Championship.

Elite SCTP Athletes

Vince Hancock, Jon Michael McGrath, and Anthony Matarese have joined the ranks of SCTP. Vince is the current Olympic Gold Medalist in International Skeet and a member of the United States Army Marksmanship Unit as well as USA Shootings National Team. Jon Michael is the current Junior World International Skeet Champion, a USA Shooting Resident Athlete, and a member of the USA Shooting National Team. Between Vince and Jon Michael, they hold every National and International record in International Skeet. Both of these young men came out of the SCTP program and will represent SCTP at the NSSF Shot Show in January 2011.

Anthony Matarese is a tremendously accomplished sporting clay shooter whose accomplishments include 13 Time All-American, 9 Time Member of Team USA Sporting, 7 Time Member of Team USA FITASC, 2 Time National FITASC Champion, and the 2008 National Sporting Clays Champion. Anthony has registered as a SCTP coach and he will be coaching out of his family’s range, M&M Hunting Preserve and Sporting Clays in Pennsville, New Jersey.

Zoli Shotguns

Steve Lamboy and Zoli Shotguns has become an SCTP sponsor and have generously donated two over-under Italian made shotguns, valued at approximately $10,000, each year for the next three years, starting with this season. The guns will be used as a fundraiser for SCTP. We are looking at a fundraiser that would benefit both the National Organization and the Local Clubs. More details will follow.

v The organizing body of the shooting club may request a yearly grant up to a maximum of 5% of the total account balance for all qualifying high schools or colleges. The first grant application will be available in May 2012, with checks issued by Midway USA Foundation in July or August of 2012.

v The funding will continue until August of 2011 or until all SSSF funds are exhausted ($1,500,000) on a first-come first-serve basis. In the event of a dispute or disagreement, SSSF/SCTP management’s decision will be final.

I keep hearing that AIM and SCTP will combine or that AIM is going away. Does anyone know for certain?
