There was an article in the US News and World Report about the orderly behavior of the Japanese citizens and the abscence of looting and other savage acts following their recent earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear nightmare.

Considering the magnitude of the catastrophe, sociologists and other world health experts were baffled.

After months of meetings, studies, and conferences, a conclusion was finally reached.

Guess what was missing in Japan!

You guessed it. THE ENTITLEMENT CROWD!

Also...a couple of other reasons: 1. Japanese consider themselves to be a big family overall and 2. In the court system in Japan, one is guilty until proven innocent.

There may be other factors, but overall, a homogeneous and self-loving society. Outsiders have a hard time fitting in, overall in Japan.
