For all you trap shooters within driving distance of Winchester Canyon Gun Club, we just want to extend an invitation to come up Thursday evening and shoot our trap league. It is 50 targets, 25 @ the 16 and [email protected] the 21. You don't have to be a member and the league scoring is run on a modified Lewis class so we have class winners from in the 20s up to the high 40s so all skill levels have a chance to go home a winner. Each class winner gets 2 boxes of shells, the Champ gets, 3 and every 25 straight gets 1 with special prizes for ladies and juniors. Entry is only $20.00.

First squad out is about 5:15 and we have plenty of light to start squads as late as 7:00 so you have plenty of time to get there. Come as early as 4:30 and you can shoot practice rounds for only $5.00. We usually have some pizza, dogs or snacks laid out

For you Ventura County shooters, I can leave Camarillo about 4:00 pm and be there a little after 5:00 and stay ahead of the traffic. It's just a short trip for you Santa Ynez shooters. We hope to see you there.

Visit www.wcgc.org for directions.

Just got home from the league awards/fun shoot night. We had 264 entries for the season which wasn't too bad for a club where trap has not been a focus. The best part of the whole experience was that the first night we had 30+ shooters each of whom knew a few of the others. Not many conversations. By tonight we had a bunch of shooters who had made knew friends and shooting buddies and lots of sitting around the tables trading stories and having a good time. While the competition was fun, the growth in the camaraderie is what made it worthwhile.

That's good news, I heard Winchester may order two new pat wobble traps. That will help. Thanks for the feed back.

Mike Foster, the new Range Director, is doing a great job getting the club up to par and his efforts are paying off.
