Don't forget for mass killings that the Happy Land Fire was done with gasoline (87 killed) and the worst school killing not done by the government was the Bath School Bombing (38 children and 6 adults).

No nation or group is immune from tragedy, and there will always be some trying to out-do the previous mark for creating havoc by targeting the innocent.

Perhaps you remember the Beslan school massacre of September 2004? Islamic separatists were responsible for the deaths of 380 people, 186 of them children, in a 3 day school hostage (situation) that ended in tragedy.

When people are motivated to strike against the little innocent ones, is there more evidence of evil than cowardly choosing a proxy (the children) rather than lashing out on the ones that caused the pain and are more deserving?
These and similar attacks that are not directly resulting from either mind-altering psycho-drugs (Stockton CA, for instance and almost all others that can be mentioned) or just plain craziness seem to be a cry for justice over some apparent hurt, but have a skewed process for deciding where is the best place to strike.
In other words, if a dog bit someone, would you expect them to take it out on that dog's puppies?
In this Beslan school case, if they thought that they were fighting a war, shouldn't the target be more toward a military base, supply train, or similar tactic?
One report did mention that they were Islamic attackers, so does that create more reason for the methodology (kill all the infidels, since none are innocent) and excuse the choice, or create even more backlash anger toward the perps and possibly more generalized hate for islamic groups?
