beware, this years model 1022 has "plastic" barrel band, trigger guard and trigger, actually some type of injection molded stuff but still not metal anyway. also has a "painted" reciever inside and out, factory does not seal off barrel opening on reciever when painted and installs barrel with overspray and factory barrel is very hard to remove even with heat or cold.
Nice stock, and traditional, much more to my liking. I'll be looking at the S&K line, Thx.
Which model did you get, and which BBl? I'd be very interested in hearing how your fine piece shoots. I've been debating this rifle and the Carbon barrel for nearly a year. I started looking for a used Ruger 10/22Mag , but wasn't happy with what I found. Then, I ran across Magnum Research and the lust was on. Here's hoping your new shooter is a winner.
I bought a clark 20" blue fluted barrel--did a google search and saw where gun digest shot it against 2 other barrels and it preformed best so thats the reason i bought a clark, sent trigger and bolt off to cpc in ct. to have it worked on, the factory trigger is around 8 pounds pull weight and will be around 3 when its returned, randy at cpc has some tweeks he does to the bolt as well, also bought a volquartsen extended charging handle, will top it off with a leupold vx-1 3-9 x 40mm scope. there are litterly hundreds of styles and combinations for the ruger 10 22 in aftermarket parts.
Here is a picure of the sort of complete build, still debating on possible swivel studs installed and a small sling but any way till after christmas this is it.
