RIP Peter O

We lost another great "old school" actor in Peter O'Toole last night. He was nominated 7 times for an Oscar and never won. Finally got an honorary in I think 2001. My favorite movie of his, beside Lawrence, was My Favorite Year. For those of you who are old enough to remember Milton Berle, Sid Caesar and Ernie Kovacs and Live Comedy TV in the 50's, you MUST see this movie. I believe it's Peter O'Toole as he really was. Bless his soul.

Yes, he was a great actor. I haven't seen 'Lawrence of Arabia' in years.

Rogue Male was always my favorite. A great story about British hunter, Sir

Robert Thorndyke (O'Toole) on a single handled mission to kill Hitler. Original

novel written by Geoffrey Household. Find a copy if you can.

I think I'll watch it again tonight!

"Night of the Generals" allowed O'Toole to play a murderous maniac with serious mental issues. Very underrated movie. It also costarred Omar Sharif.

I always thought "Becket" was one of his best. He faced off nearly perfectly with Richard Burton. He was great with Katherine Hepburn in "A Lion in Winter".

However, all of you have mentioned some great performances.

R.I.P., Mr. Chips.

Great thread!

Best, Dennis
