Just took apart an old Remington model 11 to find the fiber buffer at the rear of the receiver to be crumbling with almost nothing left. The replacement parts are easy to get however to replace correctly, a new rivet must be installed to hold the buffer to receiver. I have read this process can be quite the task if you do not have the tools. I have read on some other forums of people removing the rivet and using an epoxy to install and hold the new buffer in place. Has anyone heard of doing it this way or done it themselves?
