Take off the stock. You need to remove the trigger guard first. Mainsprings can be removed easily with a hefty needlenose pliers. There is some physical effort but no trick stuff.

Take a screwdriver, cut a notch to fit the guide rod that holds the spring. I used a dremel cut of disk to make the notch. Grind one corner of screw driver for clearance. Makes decompressing the spring simple, and instilling the new one easy. 10tenner

I put Wolf replacement springs on the lower barrel. Having some misfires. It is a good thing that they give you two. The first one flew to some hidden corner of the basement! The stock spring I could remove with my fingers and no tools. Trigger pull is stronger pound wise now.
