I would like to get some information on an old Remington slide action. This is a pre model 10. This gun has a milled rib on the barrel. The information I find said nothing of a model with a rib all they mention is a plain barrel. The stock has a round knob pistol grip.
If any of you fine folks have some information I thank you in advance.

If memory serves me??????? I seem to remember that the 1st model was listed as a 1908 but had no markings as such, then in 1910 it had some sort of changes made and was then marketed as the M.10, then revamped "slightly" in 29 and called the M.29, but the 29 was very short lived as the M. 31 came out in 1931 and lasted until 1949\50 when the current 870 was introduced, the 870 is still in production, 10 million + and still making them. The 870 the longest lived model ever. Those 870s are like noses-- everybody has one. Ross Puls
