Just so this info does not get buried in the weeds:

The barrels on the new 870 Express Trap gun are different from the standard Express barrels. The Express Trap barrels are forged under-size, then bored and polished to a nomimal .729 +/- .001". Therefore, standard RemChokes will work satisfactorily.

The field barrels are forged to the ID of .727 +/- .001, no boring/polishing.

Thanks, Scott! Now you've done it...I had just almost got control of my "new gun" impulse to get a new 870 Express Trap (see original thread). But with this new and convincing information, I'll be tapping the remainder of the remodeling and insulin budgets. :)

Tempting, but I'm kinda hooked on the quality of the Wingmasters from the 1970's...

Might have to try one of the new Express Traps, though...
