I have a Remington 1100 LT20. The gun ejects a fired shell just fine. The next shell feeds about 1” from the tube and hangs up. It feels like it’s dragging on the interceptor latch pivot stud. I used a Dremel just to polish the edge slightly but didn’t seem to help. Every shot the next shell hangs 1” out of the mag tube.

Anyone have any ideas?

thanks

The mag tube is clean. I will check the follower and see if it’s in the right direction.
There is no change whether there is 1 shell in the mag tube or 4 shells.
If it does it with multiple shells in the magazine tube, then it is probably not an issue with the follower being in backwards. That should only be a problem on the last shell in the tube.

Every shot is exactly the same. The shell is hanging 1” outside the tube. I purchased the gun years ago and it had been setting and dirty. I don’t shoot the gun but on rare occasions and would like to just use it as my bunny gun. I don’t know the full history on the gun. I will say it’s clean now.
Someone mentioned a point above the bolt is supposed to lock back until the next shell engages it to come forward. It locks back every shot because no shell to trigger it forward.
May have to find me another LT20 to purchase!

In the picture I am pointing to the piece on the 1100 trigger that has to be tripped by the shell coming out of the magazine in order for it to feed up automatically. If this piece is broken or bent, the shell will not feed and the bolt should be locked back. Hope this helps.

that piece looks good on mine. The shell never makes it that bat back to trigger it. It’s only half way out of the magazine and stuck.

How about the spring and tube extending down through the stock? I had feeding issues with my 1100. I found the spring and tube had old oil that almost felt like half dried varnish all over it. Cleaned it all up it cycles fine now.

Pull the trigger out and see if your feed latch is still staked in, and secure.

I've heard but do not know if it's true, that some shooters will just line up the trigger group pins and put in the feed latch without staking ????
I've ran them without staking no problem, I believe the staking is to make it easier to reassemble and not as likely to cut your finger on those %^$% sharp edges inside the receiver.

The feed latch can be superglued into place. Your problem is that the shell isn't coming out of the magazine with enough force to trip the bolt latch. Take out the magazine spring and follower and clean the inside of the magazine with a brush and lightly oil with a patch. Stretch the spring if necessary and reinsert into the magazine, follower first. If that doesn't work, there is a problem with the trigger group.
