Having had both, and still have one, I challenge ANYONE to test them blindfolded and tell the difference. They are both excellent and I have had no trouble with either. Having said that, I found the wait time much shorter with Pat McCarthy. And Pat is as good to deal with as anyone I have ever used.

I have had both Allem's and McCarthy's I personally had good releases from the both of them, to me it would be a toss up. I have heard of more problems w/Allems but never expierenced a problem
