I was planning to come down to Sarasota this weekend==

but I see no reference to catagory winners?????

Also, if anyone should drive several hours to shoot

and there isn't five shooters in their class==Is it

fair to penalize this shooter if noone else is there

to shoot?????

In other words no shooters are better than 2 or 3 or 4!!!!

Also, in addition to the above, 4 classes, not 5? Almost looks like the club is trying to turn off shooters, not gain participation at their shoots....

Jerry, the point I was trying to make was that on any given weekend we normally have a choice of where to shoot down here. Therefore, in order to attract shooters, any club should have perks equal to their competition. For instance, given the older population of shooters in Florida, I happen to feel that it is very important to have something available for the Vet and Senior Vet, as well as the Ladies. Most clubs, at even the smaller shoots, offer theses awards.

I would agree with your suggestion regarding the payout pegged to $3.00/Entry. That limits the risk to the club, and keeps everyone happy. As you well know, no one is making money shooting, and even if they get back $2.75, they WON, and that is the important thing to most people.

I hope this has been constructive. That certainly was the intent.

The folks at the Sarasota Gun Club are a good bunch of shooters. The matches

move along at a great pace and nobody gets bent out of shape over little things.

And may I add the lunches are excellent. The thing that impressed me the most

about the club was the man that runs the practice trap. I don't know his name

but I can tell you one thing, the folks that are new to shooting couldn't do

any better as far as having someone teaching you the fundementals. If the

squad is full of new shooters he takes his time and gives pointers to the

shooters and he always stresses safety. Guys like this are hard to come by.

New shooter or old, Sarasota is a fun place to shoot. For what its worth.

The last time I came down to shoot at Sarasota, it was

a miserable, cold, windy, rainy day and I stupidly

decided to shoot=since I had driven so far==There were

other women in the club house (shooters) smarter than

I who did not shoot===so====since there were not five

women shooting or five persons in my class, I won nothing=

Is this fair????to be penalized because I choose to

shoot??????

Greta, just the fact that you choose to shoot on such a nasty day sets you

apart from those other shooters. That should be enough in itself. You did what

the other women didn't want to do... shoot. Maybe you didn't win any prize but

I bet you won a lot of respect from your fellow shooters. Dave

I have never had any such problems at Robinson Ranch==

As a matter of fact= I have allways been treated

great==and allways was able to shoot whatever and

whenever I wanted==That is one reason I go there so

often==

And as you know, that is those who know me, I certainly

do not need one of those lovely trophies!!!!!!!
