Terminator:

In case you weren't aware...

Your original request specified "Fed 209" primers. I'm guessing you meant Fed209A primers as mentioned by Mr. Poston in his response.

Federal switched from Fed209's to the Fed209A in, I think, 1992. However, the old 209's still show up from time to time. The two are not the same.

sissy

ps: The first load Mr. Poston listed (using 18 grains of Red Dot) is one of my standard loads for registered targets. I use it from the 27 and for the second shot of doubles. It will work from any distance.

If you ever try one ouncers, put an ounce of eights in a 12SO wad, push it with the same 18 grs. of Red Dot and run amok with it.

I just opened a new 8-lb keg of Red Dot. My MEC 9000H suddenly needs a bigger bushing - maybe two or three sizes.. Just to get the 16.5 grains I use with one ounce for doubles I need a 31 bushing.

Does this look right to you? A 31 just dropping 16.5 grains? It doesn't to me, so I thought I'd check.

I just checked some of my bushings, 31 17.2 grs 32 17.7 grs 33 18.3 grs. so I think I will go with the 33.
Thanks for your replies. And thanks for correcting my error on the primer, I am using Fed 209A
