Red hulls were made up to 1971. When yellow came out, I gave all my red ones away. Didn't want to take a chance of dropping a red 20ga hull in a 12ga chamber.
I heard a story of one person doing that at our club a number of years ago, but I heard that it was after they changed to yellow 20's. Stupid is what ...
The red ones reload very nice. I wish I had a lot of them.

Loaded, shot & tossed the last of mine this past summer for just that reason, keeping several aside in the cartridge collection for the nostalgia factor only. Didn't even realize I had any left, until cleaning out a warehouse. FWIW, they all loaded and shot fine even tho many years old. Too easy for someone unfamiliar to make a mistake these days, so better they are out of circulation, IMHO.
