Mike...obviously, you are aware that the rules of the House are voted on the first day of the new Congress. The majority has changed the rules for this Congress. The minority can no longer offer amendments or offer alternative bills to those put forth by that of the majority party. With that said, "Just how are they going to insist on cuts to Social Security benefits and Medicare???" Besides, if you do the math, the Democrats need "0" Republican votes to pass any legislation in the House of Representatives. "0" or zero = none. Did I also mention a very small fact that all committees and subcommittees of Congress are chaired by a member of the majority party and are stacked with more members of the majority party than the minority party? The majority party also sets the agenda!!! You are aware that all bills originate in committe? Never let math or facts get in the way of perceived beliefs.
