Question -
The smell of my current reloads .... well, .... stinks ! Actually enough to cause me to lose focus on the job at hand. So, I am thinking of trying some Red Dot ... just because people say it is one of the "better smelling" powders. Seeing as Promo is cheaper and loads to the same data as RD .... would that be just as good ? Or does Promo not smell the same as RD ?

Shows how different everybody is. I like the smell of Top Guns, Estates, etc. Anything with a paper base wad turns me on.

I use and enjoy Red Dot. Works well, smells great. A friend gave me a box of 700X reloads the other day and for me, they smelled pretty rank.

I noticed that about Promo as well and generally I'm a 'hull huffer'. But like Ron said, it might be just the ticket for some guys. I don't know that Red Dot is any better in this regard but for sure CLAYS is. (IMHO)

I was told it was smokeless powder but after I shoot I see a lot of smoke come out of my barrel.

Not sure about the smell, but the taste is about the same.
