Current MSRP is a little over $900 on the gun you describe. I would say $650 or less would be a decent deal and less than $600 you should be buying it.
I just sold an 11-87 Premier without the receiver engraving... 28" vent rib light contour with rem chokes, great wood, Timney trigger and accessories for $625. I had probably 5,000 through the gun.
If it's a factory 1187 Trap, it should have semi-fancy trap stocks, and a factory backbored step rib barrel with special trap choke tubes. The receiver should also say "1187 TRAP" on it.
