EAST GRANBY, Conn. -- Hartford Gun Club will hold its 40th annual President’s Cup Shoot Sunday, May 3, at the club grounds here, beginning at 9 a.m., sponsored by Lomac, LTD.

The cup will go to the high combined score in 16-yard singles and handicap. The winner must play the purse to win the cup. The winner’s name will be engraved on a perpetual cup retained at the club.

Sixteen-yard singles and handicap will be shot on three banks of two fields each. Doubles will be shot on a separate field and will be available all day, so shooters may shoot whenever they wish. Another field will be available for practice.

Singles and handicap will each be 100 targets and doubles will be 50 pair. Each 16-yard class will shoot for $100, winner take all. Ties will shoot off. Each of the four handicap yardage groups will shoot for $125, winner take all. Ties shoot off. Four classes of doubles each will shoot for $25, high gun. Ties shoot off.

Juniors and sub juniors can elect targets-only for half price. They will not be eligible for cash prizes.

Singles entries close at 10 a.m.; handicap at 1 p.m.
