No
It would Be nice if Hodgon would just focus on making more of the current powders that everyone is familiar with(700x, Clays, International) instead of introducing something new that might show up every 3-4 months like all the others minus tite group and wad.

But Hodgdon doesn't make powder, they just sell them. These powders are available at a more reasonable price than most anything else. Why look a gift horse in the mouth. Hodgdon was able to get some powders that will work for target shotshell reloading and has offered it to the public. I see nothing to complain about.

Yes, But I should have wrote Cheddite primer info. My Bad not doing that.

Yeah you are probably right. Comparing price, these new powders do not seem much if any cheaper than some of the other Hodgon powders, but if they will be more available than I get it. But how long will it be before there is good reloading data with Cheddite primers in domestic hulls? I am just thinking from a stand point that it took years to get Cheddite primer data in AA/STS hulls with a lot of the current powders. So why not push for more let's say 700x and Clays vs adding new powders. Not a complaint, just an observation.
I like the names but why do we need new powders? Marketing decision, I guess. New and improved?

You guys are probably walking past cans full of useable hulls - most of the Euro hulls are Cheddites. There’s a star on the base. I’m doing a test on the ammo Steve @ PT Ammo sent me. On reload #4 and they still look great. And there are already ‘published’ loads.

The Clays family which includes Clays, International and Universal are all made under contract by the General Dynamics plant in Ontario, Canada. I emailed Hodgdon back in January about availability of the Clays family of powder and they replied:

Currently, we are looking at 2024 for next production/shipping
Thank You for using our powders!

They can't focus on something they have no control over. The General Dynamics plant is focusing on other things right now. I have a feeling it will be past 2024 before they are available again the way things are going.

At least Hodgdon is looking at alternatives in the meantime.

Apparently, not long. They have posted a bunch of data.
Hodgson does have reloading data for both powders on it's website.

Both 1 and 11/8 oz loads with both powders.
