I just finished up my last jug of Red Dot and while I liked its performance it is not as clean as Clay's. Now if Money was not a issue or availability what is the Most consistent, Clean, and Best Metering Powder for 1 oz loads 1145-1120 FPS and 1 1/8oz 1145 FPS.
Components I like and use.
Remington STS hull's
Primers Win 209
Wads 1oz DRXL-1 for 1oz & DRRF8 for 1 1/8oz loads. FYI after testing 5 wads I like these.
I use Green Dot for Handicap 1 1/8oz load at 1200FPS
I have no interest in loads less than 1oz.

Thanks I am thinking the powder shortage is coming to a end and should be able to find any type in the next few months.

I 'd second Tightwad. Extra Lite shoots cleaner than anything I've tried for 1 ounce including Clays, but it won't work for 1 1/8 oz loads.

I use Claybuster equivalents of TGT12 and Fig8 in Rem hulls with 1oz and 1 1/8 oz respectively for my loads using Tightwad in Remington hulls. I use very light wad pressure--near zero. Crimps are dished in a bit, but consistent and shoot very well. I've also used factory Remington wads with the same results. I'm not sure how your wads would compare to those, but I've found the Remington hull to be very forgiving with regard to stack height. It is certainly a valid concern because Tightwad is denser than either Clays or Red Dot.

I use this load in my 1100TB and 11/87 Premier Trap. Iy shoots very clean and always cycles the action.

STS hull
16.5 grains of Alliant E3
Rem TG12S wad
1 oz. of magnum 8's
Cheddite 209.

I used to use Remington 209P primers before they became too dear. The Cheddite 209, to me, is very similar to a Rem 209P. I believe that a W209 will work just as well.

Per the Alliant website, 16 grains of E3 with a Rem209P and TGT12 was gives 1150 fps and 7970 psi while 16.9 grains of E3 gives 1200 fps and 8550 psi.

Alliant lists this load with a Rem209P and 16.9 grains of E3 at 1200 fps and 8550 psi.

I believe that 16.5 grains of E3 will generate about 1180 fps. To me, it shoots just like a new 2 3/4 - 8 STS which is 1080 fps.
