I did when I ran a big trap line in high school. It is such an oily stinky mess that I don't mess with it now. Its the best beaver trap bait there is. Once you got it on your bare skin it was hard to get off. Its crazy the stuff its used for as bad as it stinks.

I'm definitely going back. She told me "don't stop, get all you want".

I set 6 traps that I will leave for about a week. I put little sticks in their slides and in front of den entrances that way if there are still some there I'll be able to know.

I’m not giving up my spot for good fur to interlopers. They gotta cut their own trap line. I’ve had enough trouble keeping that Jeremiah and Del Gue from making my possibles bag light of what brings me flour and a little bit of lard. Besides there ain’t no grizz or buffs left. I might have to circle back twice or go in a footback at night to keep this moderator tribe from finding my spot

I also did the same thing, many years ago. Still do not talk about it, in public.

So when you were young you were OK with a little stinky beaver but now as you've mellowed the stink can drive you away??

I would suggest that all beaver is prime...

Not all beaver is prime. There are several stages, grade choice and prime. As it gets colder beaver starts to hair up better than in the summer when it sheds a lot of hair to stay cooler. Prime brings more money because the short silver or blonde hairs become thicker to protect from the colder temps. As far as the stinky beaver when I was young I was seeing$$$$$$ and could tolerate the stank. That or I just got used to it and didn’t notice it as much. My buddies could always tell when I been handling beavers because of the stink from the castor glands. I could get $30 to $50 for pint mason jar full. That was big money in 1980 to a 13 year old boy.

    Stinky Beaver.

    “Ahhhhh, Saphire !!!!! “

So, when you were young you were up to your elbows in beaver - and making money working it.

What's the "older neighbor lady that has a beautiful..." beaver issue paying you??
