The Imperial Polk Gun Club of Winter Haven held our April registered Trap Shoot on Sunday the 19th. This will be our last shoot of this season, the May shoot has been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts. We shot Singles and Handicap, both 100 bird events and the winners are: Singles; Champion and B class winner Jerry Quintal (95), A class Stevan Hill (92), C class Tom Hooker (92), D class Alfred Droll (92), yes 92 was a popular number. High Vet. was John Ramsay (88), Senior Vet. Donald Gisewhite (75) and Lady Patricia Hill (81)
Handicap: Champion and mid yardage winner Jerry Quintal (94 at 20 yds.), High yardage John Ramsay (79 at 25.5 yds.) Low yardage Conrad Hess (89 at 19.5 yds.) Vet. Stevan Hill (85 at 19.5) and Senior Vet Alfred Droll (87 at 20 yds).
It was a nice day for shooting, sunny in the morning and as the temperature went up the breeze picked up which helped a little. The birds were dancing a little bit for the Handicap event but after that we had a very nice lunch of brats and dogs with sauerkraut all flown in special from Vermont. A nice end to the season, we hope to see even more shooters next fall. John Helm
