The #'s are re-stamps. Proof marks are polished off. That and the "MTR" # indicates it was an off the shelf bbl fitted to a gun, stamped with it's #, and then fitted to another gun and the previous # polished off and the # for the latest gun stamped. Without the proofs there is no way to tell the real age of the barrel.

The 51014 # is consistent with a late T3 action and T4 barrel hanger. The breech face shows the drag mark from the T3 top lever release pin.

Semperfi It sounds like your right about the restamp, I can assure you these are for a type 4 fore-end, Thank you for looking. Barrels are mint

Sure. I have a few late 70's T3's with T4 forends. Just the way it was - nothing rare or unusual there.

I was only speaking to the T3 action with the T4 barrel as not being uncommon, nothing in reference to your particular barrel. Which obviously will function on any action with a T4 forend.
