I replaced the mid bead on a Perazzi barrel, sn# 137xxx. I was surprised when I drilled a .070" diameter hole through the bead body and a pressed in, .085" diameter, shank came out on the drill, I thought all Perazzi beads were threaded. Anybody know about this? I was able to tap the existing hole and screw in a replacement.

My experience has told me that all of the Perazzi mid beads are pressed in. Any attempt to remove them as one piece will result in the bead breaking off.

Thanks, if I had asked before I removed it I could have avoided the surprise. I bought a replacement mid bead and it was threaded so that is what I expected to find.
