To determine the date you have to look at the "little alphabet codes" stamped into the bottom of the barrel -- like 1980 is AF, and 1981 is AH, etc. - find out what code is stamped into the bottom of the barrel and you can then find out what year it was made. the beav

As "dr.beav" above stated, a 1980 gun would have "AF".

AH - 1981
AI - 82
AL - 83
AM - 84
AN - 85
AP - 86
AS - 87
AT - 88
AU - 89
AZ - 90
The list continues.

Unbeliveable find - that is the nicest TMX I have ever seen. Just completed
a lot of work on mine thanks to Joe Goldberg aka Gun Fitter and Glen Hunting
at Silver Dollar but your gun puts mine to shame. Someone must have been a
very good boy this year..!

Buffer Bob, my TMX has 8777 PU on the bottom of the lug, but it also has AL in a box on the bottom of the barrel. I'm gussing mine was made in 1983. rmy
