Perazzi Manufacture Date

How do you determine the the year an older Perazzi was manufactured if you don't have the original documentation with the gun? I picked up an MT6 with a serial # 1770 and am curious about the manufacture date.

There are several posts on here that give you the date codes. Use the search option and it will help you immensely!!

Thank you kindly. The search function as mentioned above brought up a ton of Perazzi's for sale but little otherwise no matter how I worded my search.

Mfg. 1976-1982. That low probably about 76-77. my mt6 #102820 was 1977

The barrels on my TMX and MX3 O/U have the alphabetic code "AI" that means they were proofed in 1982.

I heard at one time that the designation MT6 was for the Montreal Olympics in 1976, is this correct or just a talltale?

I was told the same many years ago by a friend who purchased one new in 1981.
