Not knowing that, I go with M-12 and Super X-1

Assuming value and reliability: 870 and Beretta 301-302-303

A hunting gun for all conditions: Benelli.

Can't think of a modern pump that's of high quality right now..

My favorite pump was my Ithaca 37. Never owned a Beretta auto so can't comment. I do love my 11-87's. I don't like shooting Benelli autos. Too light and kick the crap out of you and way overpriced. I owned a Browning A5 auto. It was a very well made gun but I couldn't hit good with it so I sold it. I never liked the way it felt when it recoiled. Not smooth like my Remingtons.

Remington models 870 pump and 1100 (and 11/87) auto's based on sales, current production status and numbers sold.

Also, many shooters pick up either an 870 or 1100 and begin braking respectful scores with little or no modification to the stock configuration.

The Beretta 303 was a great auto. In fact, I bought a used one from Mickey in Iowa and won the Minnesota State Singles with it the next weekend. I often wonder why I'm not still shooting it . . .
