Well Dan I have 2 loaders so my preference is 16's--1st shot doubles 1oz
Handicap and 2nd shot doubles 1.125. Although I have shot both shots dpubles with 1oz. I guess in handicap would be personal preference in regards to your yardage.

7/8oz for both shots at doubles, 1oz for singles, and handicap if shooting more than 300 birds in a day. Otherwise, 1 1/8oz for handicap.

One ounce of 8's has more pellets and less recoil than 1 1/8 oz of 7 1/2's.
