Here are some pictures of the offset modification Tron did for me and my "Rat Grip"

The marble looking comb spacers were made by Various Frank Wood.

Bet nobody mistakes your gun for theirs. LOL I'm sure it works well for you and if so who cares what it looks like. The marble looking spacers are cool.

Love the grip. Offset looks extreme, but not sure from pic. Whatever it takes to make it fit!

I must say I've seen this gun in action and damn it works! Don has whipped me all winter with it. Damn near was gonna post on the "ain't broke a 25 all winter" thread due to Don kicking my ass. Don and I follow Leo's advice to shoot for some type of wager while practicing just to push yourself; and Don's got enough diet coke out of me to fill a damn vending machine.

I hope it works because the harassment one would take with that in there hand would be unbearable. Pretty much looks like an abortion. LOL

Yes, even my "friends" rag on me mercilessly. I get a lot of advice like:

The recoil will hurt your thumb and it is ugly

You are shooting a shotgun not a target pistol and it is ugly.

It must make it awkward to open the action and it is ugly.

How do expect to get in the damn case and it is ugly.

When are you going to get a real stock made because it is ugly.

I will admit there is a certain pleasure in shooting well (well for me at least) with something so different and ugly. Must be like the feeling those guys shooting 870's get when they whoop a$$ on K and P guns.

Dave S,

I got the "Carbine" kit (I think it is called) and then ordered two more sheets of grip. I purchased from Brownell's. Total cost was under $150. It is easy to work with. A knife, scissor, heat gun, and bowl of water. It can be removed without damaging the stock. It can be reworked by heating it and molding it again.

Good for you Don. I admire a guy that will abuse a high priced gun in any manner to make it shoot better. I have done some weird stuff to guns. Some things worked--some did not but I always learned something .
As others have said...It is not a beauty contest it is about breaking Targets..SMOKIT

Don has made a serious quest over the last couple of years to "Break all of them."

I will tell you that he is doing that a lot. Challenging the norm and breaking out of the mold is subject to a certain amount of harassment. Don easily weathers that especially if you shoot against him with his "Rat Gun" and he whips your ass.

I for one support Don in his quest for shooting excellence.

Having said that I must warn you BE AFRAID! BE VERY AFRAID!! The rat grip has taken over and has a life of it's own. Don has been seen measuring door knobs at the club and warned off several times. His car dealer reports strange things occurring to his steering wheel, like they have bees subjected to heat or molding. And last but not least dear Mary the love of his life and a real angel has been seen driving him off of silver ware and cooking utensils with rat grip in his hands. Yes, in answer to the questions his personal scotch bottle has a new grip, his personal toilet handle has a new grip, yes! Yes! the handle on his reloading presses also have new grips!! At his work place all the coffee mugs disappeared and reappeared with you guessed it new grips. Where will it end? How can we save Donny from this fate?

DON.........get a grip! :)

I remain Your humble shooting friend,

Mike Sudz

Bob Hawkes there is a vaccine in development I hear but it is only available after shooting hours and it doesn't work for everyone. It can be taken with water and ice or just straight. Some have been known to mix it with soda.

The question for the trapshooting community is will this spread and if so how fast.

Tron is going to be our central communication overlord and chief evaluator.

Pray for Bob he is on the slippery slope. Lets' hope he gets a grip.

I hope I do not jinx myself but here goes.

Shot a 99 in snow flurries Saturday and another 99 on Sunday.

Heading to the Silver Dollar to shoot the PVA and Southern Grand. Hope I can do as well. Lesson planned with Leo too. I will give you his "take" on this monstrosity.

Keep it up Don, shoot well and enjoy!

As to Shutzem Mike, there's nowhere to go but up from where I've fallen to lately. :) But it was a lot of fun for many years, now it's just put in the effort to try to improve and keep enjoying. Too many good people and memories to do otherwise. Shoot often while we can, Bob

Don, did you have to remove any wood to make this work?

ALmost looks like enough offset to shoot with the off eye.

jhoward,

No wood is removed. The stock can be easily and quickly brought back to "stock" configuration.
