RE: Renovated with a State Grant????

Pittman–Robertson Act money used by many states to build or improve gun ranges.

The state has to put up so many dollars for whatever project, I think 25% of the cost. The state in turn can have the local government put up X amount of funds (part of the 25% to come up with what the feds requirement of 25%).

You'll see funding in many state budgets but with an " * " saying what the locals have to put up and start/completion date. If the locals don't come up

Washington if my numbers are correct received $22,215,325 from the feds last year.

Pittman–Robertson Act. In the 1970s, amendments created a 10% tax on handguns and their ammunition and accessories as well as an 11% tax on archery equipment. It was also mandated that half of the money from each of those new taxes must be used to educate and train hunters through the creation and maintenance of hunter safety classes and shooting/target ranges.[

In Vermont each year they rebuild berms and general improve clubs with such moneys. One club has a request in to put in a 5-stand. Volunteer labor is there contribution.
