Monroe Sportsman's Club in Conneaut, OH is having their annual New Year's Day Shoot.

There will be a

Turkey Shoot at 10:00 AM to ? $3.00/shot. 8 - 10 shooters per shoot. Open to 12 ga. or 20 ga. Club furnishes shells

Meat shoot from 10 - noon. Cost is $5.00 per token. 10 bird program. Meat prizes awarded.

100 Bird Program. Shoot starts at noon. Program is 50 16 yard targets and 50 club hanicap (2 yards off ATA, 20 yard min.) Cost is $20.00 Options are Lewis class $10.00 Great Eastern Purse $20.00 and Long Run $2.00

Meat shoot: You buy a token in the club house, once there are 5 shooters ready they shoot 10 birds--2 per station. The winner gets their choice of meat. We have chicken, bacon and I believe ribs. The meat prizes are great quality from a local butcher shop and it is vacuum packed.

I believe that you shoot from the 16 yd line and if there are ties which there will probably be, then you back off and shoot from handicap yardage.

Finally talked to the mastermind of this shoot--prizes will be your choice of chicken, bacon, ribs, or hamburger patties. We will be using the same prizes for the turkey shoot as well. Mom is bringing the homemade cookies to share and she is cooking up some kind of delicious soup for the kitchen as well!
