You would think that as a courtesy to anyone who might want to attend the ATA would come up with a definate answer just in case some would have to change their plans ... There may not be a massive difference but in this economy it could be the deciding factor for some when taking everything into consideration ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Bill it will certainly change the amount i'm able to shoot and as you know, i don't have a fraction of the expenses most do to attend the Grand. I have flats of new shells sitting in the gun room just for the Grand caps events and if i have to then divide among the rest of the program or buy more it will drastically reduce my participation. While i have no problem with following the rules, this should have been hashed out at the close of last years Grand. Stupid is as stupid does.

I sure hope the decision makers in Vandalia consider this with due diligence.(Where have I heard that term before?) Those that fly in must purchase new ammo somewhere. Those driving in from the surrounding states could make or break the attendance figures considering the economy factor. How much did the hundred grand influence last years attendance figures with mandatory new shells for just the handicaps? Will the Martins great gift of a big Lewis purse do more to attract a lot more shooters this time around? Only if we forget about the economy and that just ain't happenin folks.

Out of curiosity, I would bring new shells for caps, but that's not the same as buying them there. I assume that is the issue; buy there or bring your own new?

Doc--Your correct and i'm not sure if your asking or just making a statement. Last year, you had to shoot new for caps but you did not have to buy them there. If that was the change, i could handle that but buy new for the whole thing would be tough on me. I'm sure others would feel the same burden.

Doc, just new shells. Some guys bought them at Wally-World but I bought mine at the shell house to support Gamiels. About the same price too!

If new shells purchased on the grounds are going to be mandatory, I would look for it to be announced after June 9, the deadline for the camping leases.

Quick 1, I believe you hit the nail squarely on the head. If I had to take a quess right now, I would side with new shells for all. I too say support Gamaliel and buy there shells if you can. Walwart has never done a thing for me, unlike Gamaliel. Wish-en I was there again. Luck now for those who go. Break-em all. Jeff

Here we go again, if you think WalMart has not given back in many ways to many communitys check it out for yourself in the achives ... Then tell me how much Gamaliel has given to the community compared to Wal Mart ... You can shop where ever you please but don't make stupid statement about things unless you know for sure what you are talking about ... Nothing against Gamaliel,they have the Grand ammo on consignment. When I asked them, thats what they told me. They don't win or lose eitherway. Clyde

Clyde--Your right. I like Geoff Pare the owner of Gamaliel and in fact i bought my current Trap gun from him. That said i don't loose sleep buying ammo from whoever i choose. Gamaliel's gets plenty of my money over a years time anyway. I have many many friends and family that also rely on Sparta's Wal Mart for jobs. They may not be big money jobs but in this day and age they all count. Any unsold shells from Gamaliels simply go back to the Manufactures wharehouses. The same trucks that deliver them, pick them back up and it ain't Geoff's trucks. Ask 'em, they'll tell you.
