Use Hornady's ballistic calculator. The nice thing about muzzleloaders and round balls is that there is a lot of arc going downrange. That makes it easy to sight at one range, say 50 yards, measure the drop at 100 yards, and fiddle with the calculator to back in to a muzzle velocity that duplicates your points of impact - no chronograph necessary.
