Did anyone watch the Masters Golf Tournament, To me that was the toughest course
I have seen yet and a lot of missed puts.

The Grand American should be just as tough as the Masters, because the Grand American Handicap and Singles and Doubles should be a tough game.

I never saw so many missed putts by the TOP PRO GOLFERS.

This seperated the men from the boys. There are 5 Americans in the Top 10 of Golfers.

Let's shoot 3 hole targets and 1200fps shells and see how our TOP TRAPSHOOTERS
Perform.

I am willing to bet there will not be anywhere near 42 200 straights in singles at the GRAND this year, if we go back to the 3 hole target and 1200fps
Shells.

The winning Handicap scores will possibly be a 100.

This alone would save the ATA Monies on Overtime for pullers and setters and loaders, Plus less inventory in the Shell House. RE: NO EXPENSE FOR THE NITRO 27S, AA SUPER HANDICAPS, FEDERAL HANDICAP PLASTIC AND PAPER HANDICAP SHELLS.

This simple change alone would put INTEGRITY Back into the game.
Higher Lewis Class pay-outs for average shooters.

If you cannot shoot 3 hole targets w/1200fps shells STAY ON THE PORCH

There is a waiting list for camping spaces at Sparta, Marengo, Mason, Elysburg,
and Silver Dollar if you want to stay home.

Doc, it's an invitational tournament. That means you and I, and most everyone else would not get invited.

We could hold the resulting grand american at Munith Rod and Guns 4 trap club....

Golf humor............

A husband and wife are on the 9th green when suddenly she collapses from a heart attack!

"Help me dear," she groans to her husband.

The husband calls 911 on his cell phone, talks for a few minutes, picks up his putter, and lines up his putt. His wife raises her head off the green and stares at him.
"I'm dying here and you're putting?"
"Don't worry dear," says the husband calmly, "they found a doctor on the second hole and he's coming to help you.
"Well, how long will it take for him to get here?" she asks feebly.

"No time at all," says her husband. "Everybody's already agreed to let him play through."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A gushy reporter told Phil Mickelson, "You are spectacular, your name is synonymous with the game of golf. You really know your way around the course. What's your secret?"
Mickelson replied, "The holes are numbered."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Police are called to an apartment and find a woman holding a bloody 5-iron standing over a lifeless man.

The detective asks, "Ma'am, is that your husband?"

"Yes" says the woman.

"Did you hit him with that golf club?"
"Yes, I did." The woman begins to sob, drops the club, and puts her hands on her face.

"How many times did you hit him?"

"I don't know -- five, six, maybe seven times.....just put me down for a five."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A golfer teed up his ball on the first tee, took a mighty swing and hit his ball into a clump of trees. He found his ball and saw an opening between two trees he thought he could hit through.
Taking out his 3-wood, he took a mighty swing. The ball hit a tree, bounced back, hit him in the forehead and killed him.
As he approached the gates of Heaven, St. Peter asked, "Are you a good golfer?"
The man replied: "Got here in two, didn't I?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The bride was escorted down the aisle and when she reached the altar, the groom was standing there with his golf bag and clubs at his side.
She said: "What are your golf clubs doing here?"

He looked her right in the eye and said, "This isn't going to take all day, is it?"

Gary,

Great idea. We'll need to set every trap differently. Maybe some of them will be 48 yards, while others 52 years. Some 8.5 ft targets and some 10 ft targets.

While were messing with the traps, we'll move the field a few degrees left or right.

Of course, all of this will be done within the established "legal target" settings. NO adjusting traps for the wind. Just shoot what they throw.

What I don't quite understand is why the 16yd will be more difficult and the number of 200 straights will be reduced, but the Handicap will possibly be won with a 100 straight.

Only 95 golfers were invited to the Masters this year, and about two thirds of them were cut after the first two days. Is that a democratic national event?? I love the fact that a high school freshman can defeat Harlan Campbell to win a hundred thousand dollars! No kid has that chance against the PGA pros. Jack

Considering the Chinese supposedly invented gunpowder in the 9th century AD and that Golf in its modern form wasn't popular until the 18th Century, it's fair to say that a number of different cultural and social pressures have had their effects on each. Shooting, either in war, hunting, or sporting endeavors, is a complicated and simultaneously simple and sophisticated act that has been used to take and save lives, kill game for food, and keep hands and eyes well coordinated by guys just like us for a long time. Golf is different. The Grand is a place where all comers can come, put their money down, and go with reckless abandon for the Brass Ring. The Masters is different. Shooting comes and shooting goes. The rules ebb and flow. The Masters is different. But, what the heck, baseball is different, too. You hit .360 in the majors and you go to the Hall of Fame. Break 36 out of 100 in trap, you go home. Shoot 36 on the front at Augusta and you just carded par. But if you pull out your 7-iron on a 165 yard par 3 at a highly respected golf course, surrounded by 3 good friends who just happen to be scratch golfers, too, and you drill it to four feet past the hole and it checks and backs up and somehow drops in, I can tell you now that for the rest of your life, in your heart and soul, you'll be as good as anybody that ever picked up a stick and swung it at a golf ball. And for me, that's what makes golf and trap so different but so much alike:they are truly individual sports and the only battle you have to win is the war that is constantly raging inside your very soul.

I don't recall any young man "defeating" anyone to win the $100K... I would argue it was everyone's round to lose and all but one did...

There was an "amateur" in the hunt for the green jacket... he just didn't hit as well as Bubba...

Phil Mickelson had one bad hole in the final round and that turned a possible first place finish into a tied for 3rd. How many times has one bad trap field spoiled an otherwise good Handicap Score ??

Do they make 3 inch and 10 gauge trap ammo??? If so got to get me some, more is always better.

How about 28 gauges at 16 yds.

The greens at Augusta are impossible and if you knew the course you would know that. Now you are a expert at trap and golf courses.
