DON"T leave a gun in your vehicle anywhere!! Your car or truck can be unlocked faster than you can using your key!! That is, if your vehicle has a computer and most do.

The Bad Guys know when a big shoot is going on, never leave your gun in your car, anywhere. If you don't want to walk through the hotel with your gun every day, have a buddy who is camping at the gun club store your gun overnight.
I'm not sure if the Tucson club offers storage lockers like they do at San
Antonio, but you could ask.
I always got a chuckle out of watching the non-shooters at the Vegas hotels when they saw us walk through carrying a gun case. Kind of made me feel like a part of the mob....

I always take any guns in the room while I'm there. Here's a tip for fellow shooters. Buy a flat sheet than somewhat matches your interior or just get a black one. Cover all your stuff up so it can't be seen from looking in the window. Thieves usually spot something to steal before choosing a car to break into. I do this everywhere I go and it's the best 10 bucks you can spend. Sometimes you stop and eat or shop on the way to or from the club. I have done this many times without a problem. Keep the sheet under a seat and you'll always have it with you.
The Plaza Del Sol Hotel/Casino is often a host hotel and offers a shooters rate - and it's a nice casino with several eating options, but the problem is that you usually have to park WAY out in the parking lot and haul your gear a long ways to get to your room. When I haven't been RV'ing I've stayed at several of the motels on Tucson Blvd near the airport. Never had a problem at Country Inns and Suites or Hampton Inn and both usually offer a shooter's rate. Many more options like Holiday Inn Express and La Quinta, etc. in the same area.
But, Karla is right. Your gun should stay with you no matter where you go. NEVER leave it in the car. And like she said, when I've stayed at motels instead of RV'ing, often I've left my gun with a friend who was RV'ing. Tucson Trap & Skeet Club does not have lockers, so keep your gun with you at all times or leave it overnight with a friend RV'ing on the gun club grounds. Like the RV'ers like to say - who's going to break into RV's at the gun club when they know EVERYONE HAS A GUN?
But, don't let fear scare you away from Tucson. It's a great, very well run shoot and a nice change of weather in February for many shooters that are stuck in colder climates for most of the winter.

Del Sol offers valet parking and a bellhop to help take your things to your room, all it takes is a tip so don't let the parking arrangements keep you away. Yes, many of the hotels near the airport do offer a shooters rate, but you have to ask for it.
Leo and I were staying near the airport the year that I was driving back to the hotel from the club. Leo had stayed at the gun club for an after hours poker tournament. As I drove along Valencia (the road that runs in front of Del Sol to the airport road) my drivers window was shot out. It shattered, but stayed together long enough for me to get to the hotel. I had a truck full of shells. I left them in the trunk, but I did notify the hotel desk/security of what had happened and asked them to keep a close eye on the car. They had outside security and were glad to help me.

Karla, thanks so much for your valuable input. I am going to contact Del Sol for shooter rates. It seems like that is the closest to the club. I am still not sure if I am going to fly or drive. Most likely it will depend on the weather.
I think of you and Leo often. Are you going to Tucson or Vernal this year? I'de love to take you out to dinner.
