I had Moneymaker put an adjustable rib on my Alfermann. I loved it, but had a problem. I called Moneymaker, and they fixed the problem quickly and professionally.

Depending on a shooters build, long neck, short thick or thin a higher rib aids in rotating you head to a more upright position which may improve vision and comfort. A higher rib may also improve comfort by allowing the recoil pad to be place in the shoulder pocket while maintaining the upright head postion.

Many shooters cut off a good portion of their field of vision when they bury their heads into their stocks.

Higher ribs are not for everyone, but many high rib shootere do quite well with them. The best and least expensive way to find if you're a high rib canidate is to make a mock up out of balsa wood and tape to your existing rib. Assuming you have an adjustable comb, you can make the rib as high as you want and start cutting it down until you find your comfort zone. Spray painting the wood flat black may cause less distraction to you. If you need rib beads use cut off straight pins or larger push pins as beads. Once you establish if a high rib works for you, then you can order a rib with those height dimensions.

Adjustable ribs allow for poi change and can be tailored to your poi needs. Most adjustable ribs are higher than standard fixed ribs to allow for a range of adjustment to reach higher poi's

In all honesty, all these bells and whistles wont help you break one single target more. Your money would be better spent in instruction from a pro, take your pick, and just learn to shoot. As you say your new to this, and it seems as though your just "throwing darts and seeing what sticks". After your lessons you will know what will help and what won't.Just my opinion,I could be wrong. What ever you chose, good luck to you.
