Here is a Mod 12 with a set of red burl maple that I made for my son, have not chosen a checkering pattern. It is a Wenig new american trap with a 4 way comb I installed and right hand palm swell. What do you think ? Ronnie

I would have to give you an A+ on that stock, beautiful wood and workmanship. I , however, do not want to judge you as a master too quickly. If you can find a similar piece of wood, highly figured, I can let you make a stock for my MX 10RS, then with added viewings and my willingness to give it 20 years of trial usage we will better be able to judge your work. If this is not possible, nice work .

I am with wireguy totally. I have always felt the model 12 looked the best dress in lighter wood and the burl maple is outstanding. Your gun is beautiful

Reminds me of some of the Maple stocked M-12's that I used to see around when I first started shooting back in the 70's.

Where did they all go?

Probably still sitting in widow's closets.....

Nice job on the stock!!!

Model 12 looks great, Wenig is one of the best in the business !!! What/How does it, if anything, effect the blue-book value of a gun being restocked in maple ??? I am currently looking @ a perazzi MS-80 that has been restocked in this same manner. thanks, jim

Curly Lewis made dozens, maybe dozens of dozens, of maple stocked trap guns in the fifties through the eighties. I might have one or two of Curly's stocks around here somewhere.

Some pictures of stocks I made for myself, I am left handed. Some pictures of a spec goose call and 1911 45 grips from scrap of tigger myrtle. First set french walnut on a Vintage scroll, second set tiger myrtle on K20, others set I have made and has not been checkered. Hope you like them Ronnie
