The weather for the 17th annual Minneapolis Gun Club Handicap Championship was the BEST we've ever had !!! While the temp's were a little "warm" for some, low 90's with plenty of sun, there was NO wind. Old Glory was drooping straight down all 3 days.

Friday's Marathon Doubles turned into Doubles and Handicap targets being shot...lots of 'em.

Saturday morning the shooter's showed up with their game faces on ready to go after the 200 Handicap targets, the added money, Championship Belt Buckle and recognition on the Championship Plague.
When the gun-smoke cleared, Derek Fischer was the Top Shot. Derek posted a 96 in the first 100 and a 95 in the second hundred for a combined score of 191...all alone. Scott Messenger was next with a 188. Top 10 places paid with ties divide.

Derek Fischer 191
Scott Messenger 188
David Harris 187
Josh Demulling 186
Jerry Demulling 186
Don Lowden 185
Dutch Poel 185
Todd Herring 185
Scott Prafke 184
Mike Gunderson 184
Jeff Hoppes 184

Sunday's program was the Neil Winston Memorial 200 Singles with the John Storm Custom Embroidered Jacket on the line for a 200 straight along with Class prizes.
In the first 100, 15 year old Sean Cameron, a product of the USA Clay Target League, posted his first 100 straight !!! Sean shoots for the Lakeville South High School Team and MGC is their home club. Jerry Lahr also posted a 100 straight. Great shooting by both.
When it was all over...Jerry Lahr finished up with a 199 !!! Oh so close to getting that Jacket.

AA....Leo Brand 196
A.....Ed Dietz 195
B.....Jerry Lahr 199
C.....Sean Cameron 196
D.....Ian Peck 181

Both days the shooters were treated to a roast pork dinner with fixings courtesy of The Friends of Neil Winston. And it was delicious.

Thanks to everyone who participated. Hope to see you back next year.
