Plan on attending one of the Premier Memorial week-end shoots in the country. Mason, MI home of the MTA will host this shoot on 5/24 thru 5/27. The five man team event will be held on Sun. the 26th. Bring your team or just come and get on a team or just come and shoot the whole week-end with us.

did the shoot on 5-4-13 and 5-5-13 at MTA... Birds would not come out of houses, trappers could not keep score and to top it off MTA has scores with ATA all wrong. Paid a lotta coin to have such a poor experience. They need to get their act together in Mason!!

Mason has been going downhill for quite a while now, a lot of people won't go back there because they way the shoots are run. The team shoot participation is nothing like it used to be, and has gotten way to expensive for a 100 bird shoot.

mobear, I had not shot there in 12yrs until this spring. Your conclusion above were very evident to me. I use to have a riot going to shoots there. I only hope for the future of the sport that the problems there are recognized and fixed so it can return to its former glory for years to come!

Criticism by me above was only meant to be done so that problems can be addressed. A buddy of mine, called me today cuz he is also having issues with his scores being missing from this shoot with the ATA too. So, I know it is not just me. The issues with the birds coming out of the houses broken or at all and trappers keeping correct score could be addressed with better supervision and direction from the folks in charge there. Willingness by them to admit there are problems would be a great step in fixing issues.

I do wish them the best in rectifying issues preventing them from having success.

Sincerely

Chummin

chummin, my statement addressed your using this forum to complain rather than constructively addressing to the appropriate persons. You made no reference to doing so.

I must have been at a different shoot. My birds came out, my scores were recorded by the trappers. I believe those who ran the shoot are within their time limits to send the scores to the ATA. I also believe that this was a training session for some trap help.

I don't believe and know your experiences are not the norm. You hit a ruff spot that can happen anywhere at anytime and any club.

The MTA is looking for shooters to help in many ways. Now would be a good time to step up and help in any way you can. Tearing the club down is not one of them.

Mobear I don't think you know what you are talking about.

Son, I have probably shot at mason more than you. I have watched it go downhill for the last five years. The shoots are poorly run now the trap help and scorers are Terrible and not trained properly . The team shoot numbers are down yet it takes forever for scores to be posted. And $40 dollars for a 100 bird shoot is rediculas price.

mobear now that you have trashed the placed I guess you are staying home. Your loss and you are still full of BS. There maybe a couple of poor scorers but don't trash the whole bunch. There is an election at the state shoot, try doing something positive.

Your post is really going to help the place and you maybe one of problems.

Don, you always say on here that people should do something or they are the problem, yet we never hear about you doing anything but bitching about what people say. It is a fact that the numbers for the team shoots have gone down considerably. That parking lot and campground used to be full, and if shooters got there at 7 in the morning there was already a long line to get classified, and the team event wouldn't be done until 4 pm. now the shoot is done around 1 pm and they are calling for handicap. Several years ago they tried having shooters pay a lesser fee, and asked them to help with scoring and houses either before or after they shot. My father and I did this and we were in the minority, since the rest of the shooters couldn't be bothered to help out, but they didn't ask to pay full price either. My home club is also the home club for Dave Price, and Dick Magnus. We have done more to help trapshooting than you would dream of doing. So until you come up with something more constructive that "your the problem not the solution" you are the problem.

Mo you are also confusing the Fall team shoot with the Spring. The Fall was the first and always the largest of the team shoots. The may shoot was started to train new help and then became the Spring team shoot. The days of long lines were in the Fall and before computers but what would I know as I only have been shooting there 20+ years. I guess because you belong to same club as Dave and Dick you get to take credit for what they did also.

Try putting some of your energy into something positive. What do you expect to do in trying to put another shooting facility into the ground. Then you can set arounnd with chummin and wonder where all the gun clubs went.

Personally I am looking forward to shooting all 1200 targets this weekend.

Don you are so full of shit. Tell me one thing that you have ever done that would be considered constructive. I guess this would be the reason that all of the shooters I know can't stand your ass!
