I have a Browning with the serial #09499M131
Browning has a web site that tells you how to match these numbers to get the manufacture date.
131 = Citori
The letter M = 0
The serial number is 09499
All the examples show 2 letters not just 1 like I have ?
So I am assuming that the date of this gun is 2000??? If anyone has the correct answer please come forward

I would think MM would be 2000 since they use a two letter code to signify the year of Manufacture. They use NN as an example for 1999.

Did a little more digging and some sites say M is 0/10 so maybe a 2010?

Thanks Arcticfire: It's confusing to say the least. They don't make any reference to just a single letter for date of manufacture.The letter Z = 1 therefore the combination of numbers and letters should have this #09499ZM131 but it only has the M. Also the reference guide shows a total of 10 numbers and letters and mine only has 9. I will see if I can get a hold of Browning for an answer!
